Crossing Jordan is officially canceled by NBC

Crossing Jordan is no more, and the season finale of the series - which airs this week - will also be the series finale.
I was so hoping for that reprieve after rumors abounded that maybe it would be coming back. But alas it has been chopped off the fall schedule.

I have watched Jordan since first episode. I watch the reruns on other networks, whenever possible. It is one of the best and most un ique shows on tv. I cannot believe
it is being cancelled.

You can’t take a top quality show like Crossing Jordan off the air leaving the fans/viewers stranded with no closure. You guys at NBC have already been facing a lot of problems with viewer loyalty. Want to take a guess as to how this is going to play out with view loyalty?
July 26th, 2007 at 12:56 pm
NBC doesn’t care - it’s all about ratings and they jumped the show around so much that even loyal viewers had a hard time finding it, and then they watched the ratings fall. Uh, DUH! NBC is the problem and I am boycotting that network forever.

How sad is it that NBC has focused so much on those reality tv shows filed with people who are hopefully playacting their ridiculous roles, and cancelled drama that has captured so much of the NBC audenice through the seasons!! You moved Crossing Jordan to difficult ratings competition times- who COULD withstand the finale episodes of SOPRANOS?? After all of these seasons, those of us who have been loyal to Jordan certainly deserve a finale worthy of Crossing Jordan itself. Your reality shows have no cerebral or human quality- they play only to the greed the weaknesses, and the inflated egos. If Jordan had to succomb to the money tree, couldn’t you at least have given the loyal Jordan fans closure??

I guess that the sponsers of that show have gotten enough of our money and don’t need any more. Maybe if we stop buying their products and they loose some of their fat cash they can get NBC to put Crossing Jorden back on. But canceling shows that people enjoy is what NBC is all about.

Law and Order SVU will be the only program I will watch on NBC, everything else is boring! They always take the best shows off.
August 28th, 2007 at 1:49 pm
This was the only show left I watched on NBC. That is so sad, as it was a great show. I guess it’s on to ABC and CBS.

I’m so sad to see this show go! It was a unique drama that stayed below the radar but always intrigued me moreso than some of the “top 10″ dramas. I am glad that the show ended with all of the loose ends tied though - Jordan & Woody together, Bug & Lilly together with the baby…of course I’d love to see just one more season but I’m glad the viewers weren’t left hanging.

You cancel a great show and extend “Today” another hour? Doesn’t make sense to me. We have too many news shows and reality shows, not enough “entertaining” shows and Corssing Jordan was my number one favorite. I don’t know where your ratings are coming from, but no one asked me!
September 5th, 2007 at 8:26 pm
I have been a crossing jordan fan, how can they end a great show like this!!!!! I guess i have to watch stupid reality shows, thank god for cable now that they have ended a great program.

I am so upset with NBC lately. They are CNX GOOD shows and extending shows that already go on endlessly and then they have all these reality and stupid shows on. I am a great fan of CJ and it breaks my heart as my whole family loves this show. NBC has gone to H##L in a handbag…
September 8th, 2007 at 1:36 pm
I’m sick to death of NBC cancelling all the good shows. No wonder their network keeps losing rank. This is why! The people in charge are idiots and I’m not watching another show on NBC. The Today show was already TOO LONG and boring. Goodbye NBC, you suck.
September 11th, 2007 at 6:05 am
How could they cancel this show? It’s got it all - drama, comedy, suspence. It has a fantastic cast, and is intelligently written. NBC will lose many loyal viewers over this.
September 11th, 2007 at 6:14 am
No!!!!!!
September 13th, 2007 at 9:27 pm
nbc is out one more viewer. crossing jordan was the best show they had. one of the only shows my family watch together. love this show, an come on u can not just end it the way they did. it feel’s all wrong. here’s to hope’n if we all bi*** they might bring it back.

Well, I for one am glad NBC finally put Jordan out of her misery. I watched out of habit, and have been amazed at the show’s ability to remain on the air despite the long, slow and continuous decline in Hennessey’s acting performance.
I enjoyed Ferrer, but I saw his new show Bionic Woman on a TiVo download from Amazon, and unfortunately the entire cast be on the street soon again. BW blows that bad!!
September 23rd, 2007 at 9:39 am
I cannot believe this!!!! This is one of the best shows ever!
NBC has lost their minds!
September 25th, 2007 at 12:57 pm
The reality shows are a joke. NBC is cancelling one of the best shows it has had in years. At least they can extend the courtesy to show us a last episode…preferrably with Jordan and Woody, Bug and Lily getting married in a double ceremony or something. Better yet, consider bringing the series back!!!!! Goes to show you that management doesn’t see a good thing even if it’s presented on a silver platter.
September 26th, 2007 at 12:42 pm
I am shocked I have waiting for the new season and now I hear that it has been cancalled how sad. I’m finding that TNT and A&E are featuring more new shows than the old standbys. I guess I’ll be switching to the other networks.

I am deeply disappointed in the cancellation of Crossing Jordan. It’s an immensly popular show… and I can’t believe NBC ended it without “closure”…
They should take the lead from CBS that had cancelled Jericho.. but because of fan loyalty it’s coming back…
October 9th, 2007 at 7:07 pm
WOW I can not believe it, no close to any of the story lines, what the *&^% ???? I watched it from the first show, so thats what we all get from NBC?? Just not right, Jerry O’s show looks stupid as does BW, not going to last, WONDER is really to late?
Bring it back or atleast wrap it up!
October 17th, 2007 at 10:39 am
I love this show and wish you could change your mind. It is ten times better than any other show like it on the air. I am very sorry you saw fit to make so many fans have to change stations to find a good show to watch.

What has NBC been thinking. They must be going out of their minds to give up such a wonderful show. I have also been watching Crossing Jordan from the very beginning and was stunned to find out that the show had been cancelled. I agree with most of the other fans that NBC should bring the show back so that we can have some closure on some of the story lines. Crossing Jordan was the one show that left me anticipating the next weeks episode. Each week I would plan my evenings around the nights that the show was on so I wouldn’t miss a single second of it. I loved Jordan’s help me or stay out of my way personallity. The way she would do anything and everything to get to the bottom of something that didn’t seem right left me on the edge of my seat for the entire hour. NBC would be very wise, and it would be in thier best interests, to bring back the show that brought them so many loyal viewers.

What a sad realization - I was getting suspicious when I saw that Jerry O’Connell was in a new sitcom but the clincher was when I heard that they’ve hired Brooke Smith (that nasty blonde ME on Jordan who used to torment Nigel) on Grey’s Anatomy in a permanent role. I thought Crossing Jordan was an intelligent and entertaining series that I always looked forward to watching. Way to go NBC - continuing with the dumbing down of American television!!
October 27th, 2007 at 3:31 pm
Why do they keep taking off the semi-intelligent shows, and dumbing down the ones they broadcast? Do they think they are catering to a younger, dumber crowd? No wonder it’s called the “idiot box”. NBC, you’ve made a huge mistake in your panic to get your ratings up. You’re spending the loyalty your few remaining fans had. Hello? Whose opinions are you relying on? Whose recommendations are you following, and why?
October 27th, 2007 at 7:19 pm
This was a big mistake taking off one of the best shows ever on your net work. All these stupid reality shows on stink. No one I know likes them. We waited all summer for this show to come back!!!!!!!!! stupid stupid stupid
November 13th, 2007 at 6:30 pm
Why was this show cancelled? It is the best show I ever watched. I still watch them at 7 am and 8 am. I do not know what I’m going to watch when I have seen them all. It is the most interesting show ever!!!!!!!
CRAZY! CRAZY! CRAZY!

March 26th, 2008 at 6:10 am
**** u NBC. First for cancelling Firefly, Stargate, then Battlestar, and a bunch of other good shows, like CROSSING JORDAN. All those extra cash from cancelled shows was made into terrible movies in SciFi for no reason (Rock Monster, anyone?), which no one watches. NBC-Universal, this is gonna make your station seen only in the hospital ward, where the patients have nothing to watch!
March 29th, 2008 at 1:06 am
My wife and I watched every week and waited and waited for it to come back but nothing. NBC you are a bunch of fools for dropping the best show on your network. The only other show I can stand is ER and that is mostly since I have watched it since the begining. I hate all the other crap they have now.
April 13th, 2008 at 9:13 pm
How COULD you DO that to us!!!! This was one of the greatest shows on tv! I finally got my husband into the show (he’s not into watching anything NEW lol) and you cancel it ! Wow you really dropped the ball on this one how dissapointing. Please reconsider!!!!!!
April 21st, 2008 at 3:31 pm
they should at least make one last episode to tie up the loose ends! best show ever!!
April 22nd, 2008 at 9:22 am
The N (othing) B (ut) C (rudd) network lost it’s mind and backbone in letting Campbell Brown and Crossing Jordan go.
Granted, we don’t know how some prima-donna actors and demands add up but the fact is plain and simple that this Anchor and this Show were brialliant and well loved by the public who is forced to support via exorbitant prices by the retailers who have to pay these over priced TV executives who make lame decision such as these.
Run with it CNN! Crossing Jordan has a lot of life yet!
April 30th, 2008 at 5:17 am
Jordan is my favorite show. I record all the re-runs from A&E. So sad! Other than SVU, Crossing Jordan was my favorite show. I sooooo wish you would bring it back! Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeease!
September 19th, 2008 at 11:32 am
I really love Crossing Jordan, I just wish that they would at least make another show, so that it would tie up the loose ends in the season finale of 6. I just want to know whether Macy, survive and etc. PLEASE BRING CROSSING JORDON BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
